Passenger Pigeon

Writer: NACBA InfoNACBA Info

The extinction of the Passenger Pigeon had two major causes: commercial exploitation of pigeon meat on a massive scale and loss of habitat. The last one 'Martha' died in the Cincinnati zoo in 1914. There is an effort going on to revive the species. If you want to see a passenger pigeon just watch mourning doves they are very similar to passenger pigeons.
