Everyone can enjoy birds

Not all of us are fortunate enough to be able to raise birds in our home. Many people are restricted by time, energy and commitments. Factors such as accommodation and space can play a role. This doesn't mean, however, that we have to give up our hobby of birds. There are groups in your area that enjoy the outdoors birding. Sitting at the local park, just watching the birds can help many people feel relaxation and connect them to nature. The hobby of keeping birds can mean providing shelter and feeding stations in your yard for all wild birds. All it takes is a little imagination and the motivation to continue the hobby in new ways.

Good luck and enjoy!

Both my husband and I enjoy the wild birds that live on or visit our farm. We have lots of natural food sources and feeders for them.

I raise canaries and finches in a heated birdroom in our shop. Most of the birds go to 2 outside aviaries (May to October).

Check out the AACC website

The A.A.C.C. is a national Canadian organization consisting of avicultural societies, individual aviculturists and pet bird owners. The A.A.C.C. came into being in the early seventies to fulfill the need for a truly national aviculture organization to establish a uniform set of standards for the exhibition of cage birds in Canada. Over the years its objects have expanded to include setting ethical standards for the management, exhibition, captive breeding and conservation of all non-agriculture bird species kept in captivity in Canada. Recently we have been pleased to offer our services to many aviculturalists in Canada who have seen pending local and provincial legislation threaten their hobby and their birds. The A.A.C.C. continues to offer many services to its members and affiliates
